Proto-hardboiled novel about a small-town boy who lights out for the (unnamed) big city, falls in with a bad crowd, and turns to a life of crime. Coe was a prolific writer of magazine fiction (for both the slicks and the pulps); this tale was first published as a 6-part serial in The Saturday Evening Post. .
