- London: Eugenia Stanhope / J. Dodsley, 1774
London: Eugenia Stanhope / J. Dodsley, 1774. Good+. London: Published by Eugenia Stanhope / Printed for J. Dodsley in Pall-Mall, 1774. First Edition, Second Issue with corrected "qui auroit" (Vol. I, p. 55, line 16). Two volumes; quartos (29.5cm.); 19th-century calf over marbled paper-covered boards, black gilt-lettered spine labels; vii,[1],568; [2],606,[2]pp. (lacking half title pages, otherwise collated complete with errata leaf at end of Vol. II); engraved portrait frontispiece at head of Vol. I title page.
Old repair to joints and spine ends, though leather significantly dried and flaking, brief white soil at spine crown of Vol. I, corners badly bumped and scuffed with substantial exposure of boards beneath, bottom spine label of Vol. II partly perished, 19th-century endpapers heavily toned causing offsetting and some foxing to exposed leaves; contemporary ownership signature to title pages, 20th century ex libris to Vol. I pastedown, else internally clean and sound. A Good to Very Good set overall.
