19th century. Very good. A little toning.. An intricate hand-cut and colored canivet depicting Saint Barbara, an early Greek saint and martyr, and patron saint of armorers and mathematicians. The maker of the canivet, most likely a nun, has hand colored a scolloped border around the saint, decorated with flowers, pin pricks, and small cuts. Measures approx. 4.75" by 2.75", mounted on blue paper measuring 5.5" by 3.25
