Rubio's attorney was John D. Bicknell [1838-1911], a prominent real estate attorney based in Los Angeles and one of the founders of the firm known today as Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. The Rubio case took place five years after Bicknell established his Los Angeles practice; his clientele would grow to include the Southern Pacific Transportation Company, the Los Angeles Railway Company and railroad magnate Henry E. Huntington (the founder of California's Huntington Library). This brief is also notable as an example of early Los Angeles printing. This is a rare item. No copies located on OCLC.
