On personal stationery (5-1/2" x 8-1/4") SIGNED by the soon-to-be-president as "Jimmy" to Gus Bernd [Kaufman] with a postscript SIGNED as "J." In full: "I really appreciate your fine contribution to my campaign. With friends like you, we can't lose! Jimmy. ps. You were right about New Hampshire - J." Carter edged out Mo Udall in New Hampshire five days before this letter was written.
