A Description of the New York Central Park

New York, 1868. Full leather. Very Good +. Albert Fitch Bellows. A handsome, very presentable copy of the 1868 correct 1st edition. Rebound in a mid-20th century full dark-brown leather, with new endsheets and pastedowns. Along the spine raised bands and elegant gilt-tooling and titling within the compartments. The original text crisp and bright, very light soiling (a touch of smudging) to a handful of the pages. Tiny stamp at the title page, otherwise very clean internally beyond what's been noted. The roughly 100 engravings complementing Cook's text initially illustrated by Albert Fitch Bellows. Also included is the 2 pg. "Plan of the Park", which precedes the text.
