Jacket a bit shelfworn with rubbing and light creasing at spine ends and some faint dust-soiling to surface. Boards are square with a couple small indentations along font joint and nudging at spine ends. A few brief smudges along edges of textblock. Binding is sound and pages unmarked.

Signed by the author without inscription on full title. Robinson's first non-Inspector Banks novel, though the story was linked into the Banks universe in later novels.
