Quarto; in full brown calf with label stamped in gilt to the spine; 207 pages; housed in the published brown cloth covered slipcase with ends tipped in calf; one of 200 copies; there are no ownership marks in the book; prospectus is laid in; the spine is lightly sunned and there is small abrasion to the edge of the slipcase.~~From Cave: "[T]he name with which some of the best of the Overbrook books were most closely associated was that of the artist T. M. Cleland. ... In the 1950s he was responsible for the production of hte press's most ambitious book, Prevost's Manon Lescaut. ... As an example of the luxurious book at its most magnificent, and at its furthest remove from commercial printing, the Overbrook Manon Lescaut was unequaled among postwar private press books and had few peers among the books of earlier presses." ~ (Cave 210-211.).
