5" Handmade c.1870 Paper Doll with Decorated Paper, Lace Paper, Feather Trim

United States, 1870. Very good. Light dust soiling, one or two spots.. A charming handmade 5" paper doll, made by hand by a girl around the age of 12. The doll has long brunette hair tied back with black ribbons, and she comes with ten (10) outfits handmade from decorated paper, skillfully cut and completed with tiny pleats, ruffles, and even lace trim made from lace paper. One of the outfits includes downy feathers to mimic fur trim. There are also tiny matching handbags for two of the outfits. Note that the maker has carefully cut out the doll's ringlets so they can be tossed over the outfit's shoulder.
