Rebound in red quarter morocco with five raised bands and gilt lettering to spine; top edge gilt; marbled endpapers. Original blue-green paper wraps for each volume retained and bound in at rear. Light wear and dust soiling to edges. Binding sound. Small dampstain at head of front free endpaper verso and flyleaf at gutter; tear to frontis with tape repair; patch of dampstaining to top front corner of plate facing p. 101, just barely touching illustration; prior ownership stamp [Wilson H. Kimnach] on front pastedown; interior otherwise unmarked and legible throughout; a Very Good copy in a handsome binding.
