Lüneburg: Sterne, c. 1650. Hardcover. Large folio, [14], [2], 373, [7], 251, [8], 203 leaves (lacking primary title page, the end of 'Titus', and all subsequent New Testament books). In Fair condition. Bound in full early vellum with blind tooled ornamentation and brass hardware. Vellum significantly yellowed and stained, with small tears to head and tail of spine and several later repairs to vellum covering rear board. Two brass clasp components, leather strap from clasp, and two brass fittings belonging on the rear board currently detached from volume are sold with the volume. Text block moderately age toned and stained with numerous significant non-archival repairs to torn pages, impacting both text and maps (see images). Lacking title page, and therefore of uncertain date, but likely printed in the mid 17th century. Secondary title pages for the Prophets and New Testament (which do not include publication dates) are present. Text in German; printed in a fraktur typeface.
