Octavo (19.7 cm), [vii], 275pp. Publisher's illustrated dust jacket with price intact ($2.00). Boards full bound in oatmeal cloth and maroon stamping on front and spine. Red topstain; fore-edge deckled. Dust jacket discolored with slight toning to the front and back flaps. Spine sunned. All margins, joins, and spine ends bumped, creased, and chipped. Minor tears on all margins and spine has loss to both ends. Verso toned on spine and shows minor water staining. Boards soiled with some discoloration from what appears to be water staining. Margins, corners, and spine ends bumped. Front pastedown has bookplate of former owner Arline De Haas. Both endsheets show toning and pages have foxing throughout. Discoloration in most gutters due to moisture but no mold. A Very Good copy in a Good or better dust jacket.

The first novel of Edward Anderson, who only wrote two in his lifetime. He was awarded $1,000 for his entry of Hungry Men to Doubleday. This first edition copy was owned by Arline De Haas, the author of the photoplay of the first talking film The Jazz Singer.
