"They are a little taste so that they know our missing persons, food to continue looking for them so that they return home". The recipes for more than 70 favorite dishes of missing persons were recorded in the Recipe Book for Memory, a tribute to absent persons and a way to continue the search. "They are a little taste so that they know our missing persons, food to continue looking for them so that they return home". Generous and resilient, 73 women seekers from 10 groups in Guanajuato opened the doors of their homes and kitchens to prepare -many of them after several years- the recipes for the favorite dishes of their loved ones; those who were taken from them by violence and who are absent today. The Recipe Book for Memory is the collaborative project that in its second part migrated to Guanajuato to store flavors and smells in its pages. In 2020, the first part of this work was built in the kitchens of the Rastreadoras del Fuerte, a search collective in northern Sinaloa, with the collaboration of the photographer Zahara Gómez, the curator Clarisa Moura and the journalist Daniela Rea. With the same collaboration, the Guanajuato seekers lit the stoves and stoves to bring their relatives back to eat those ranch lunches, roast meats and seafood that they love to taste so much. Because such an intimate moment can also become an exercise in resistance to oblivion, to the indifference of society and the State, inert in the face of the maelstrom that has trapped so many in its wake.
