A note of thanks from Thornton Wilder (1897–1975) to David Kirschenbaum (1895–1994), the legendary owner of New York's Carnegie Book Shop, in which he asks Kirschenbaum to pass on an enclosed letter to the stock broker and book collector Philip Neufeld, stating, "You can guess that it's a word of thanks to him for making so generous and public a vote of confidence in me," adding, "and I owe you some thanks too for your share in it." While he admits to being a "non-collector" himself, "being of a gypsy nature and travelling through life as light as I can," he writes, "I hope some day to stop in and see some of the treasures that are continually flowing through…
