Dutch illustrator, Henriette Willebeek Le Mair (1889-1966) also known as Saida, was famous for her delicate watercolors often featuring decorative cartouches. Her delightful images have appeared on decorative arts as well as in some children’s books, and she appears to have been particularly active between 1911-1917. After her marriage, she and her husband converted to Sufism, dedicating her life to service. Saida’s work style and youthful subject matter resulted in favorable comparisons to Kate Greenaway. Here she brings Milne's fantasy stories to life. Near Fine.
