Six Crises is the first book written by Richard Nixon. Modeled after JFK’s Profiles in Courage, this memoir sees Nixon reflecting on his participation in six major political events. The book, composed after his election defeat, gives readers insight into the political mind of a man who would become the 37th president of the United States. A Republican lawyer, Nixon served in both the House and Senate before being elected as Vice President (1953-1961) and late President (1968-1973); an office he held until the Watergate scandal forced his resignation. The book is inscribed to William Clinton Mullendore (1892-1983), the President of the Southern California Edison Company. A conservative, Mullendore opposed the New Deal and New Deal coalition, and was active in the Foundation for Economic Education. Near Fine in Very Good + dust jacket.
