By ZIMMERMAN, James R., edited by
Newark, New Jersey: Joycian Court, 1967. Softcover. Near Fine. Periodical. Cover art by Tom Ricciardi. Illustrated by Ricciardi and Becca Berlinrut. Small octavo. 20pp. Stapled self-wrappers. Lightly toned spine, small abrasion on front cover, about near fine. Includes a very early poem by Anne Waldman titled "Gust". Also contains poetry and short stories by: Berlinrut, Jeanne Johnson, Tom Clark, Sotere Torregian, Lewis Warsh, Rich Augustine, Marc Bryce, Michael Venetsov, and Dick Lourie. Waldman was part of the East Coast poetry scene in the 1960s and also became associated with the earlier Beat Generation poets like Allen Ginsberg who once called Waldman his "spiritual wife." Waldman and Ginsberg were also featured in Bob Dylan's 1978 film, Renaldo and Clara as The Father and Sister of Mercy. It was while attending the Berkeley Poetry Conference in 1965 that she met fellow poet, and future husband Lewis Warsh, and where she first committed to poetry. The two founded *Angel Hair* Magazine and Books, which became a seminal part of the mimeo revolution. Uncommon.
