An unemployed, white, conservative man tries to balance his desire for a traditional family life with his anxieties around the changes of the late twentieth century. Screenwriters Stephen Sustarsic and David Silverman wrote together frequently for sitcom television throughout the 1980s and 1990s, most memorably for the television series "Alice" (1976-1985) and "The Jeffersons" (1975-1985). Silverman and Sustarsic collaborated with co-screenwriter Steve Pepoon to create the children's animated series "The Wild Thornberrys" (1998-2004).
