The Circular Distributer and Agents Guide. Devoted to Advertisers Agents, Circular Distributers and the Public in General. Vol. II, No. 11 (March 1895)

  • Savannah, GA , 1895
By [ADVERTISING] [Clark, R.H., ed?]
Savannah, GA, 1895. Printed self wrappers, 24cm x 16cm; [8]pp. Printed on newsprint. Wear to extremities (without loss); old dampstain affecting first two leaves; Good and sound.

An apparently unrecorded trade monthly for drummers, bill-posters, and handbill distributors. A charmingly rustic piece of 19th-century Americana; the writing, layout, and printing are all of such a wonderfully amateur character that one marvels the journal lasted into a second volume. Includes numerous advertisements, including solicitations from those wishing to post bills and those wishing to have bills posted. Of particular interest to this bookseller is an advertisement on page 4, signed "Tarver's Old Book Store" in Savannah: "Have you any old books, or anything that is old. Look in your old trunks and search the house through. If you have any thing that is old send them or write to W.H. Tarver manager..." No holdings located in OCLC.
