A solid copy to boot of the uncommon 1923 1st edition of this fascinating study in tropical town planning, setting its sites on Zanzibar, the main island in the Tanzanian archipelago of Zanzibar. Solid and VG- in its light-brown cloth, with notable soiling and rubbing to the panels, and tender --but still perfectly sturdy-- inner hinges. Internally, no writing or markings --save for several very small spots-- to speak of. A number of black-and-white photos and diagrams complementing the text, in addition to a handful of fold-out plates (including 6 large fold-out maps of the region at the rear). Undoubtedly scarce, likely targeted to a very narrow audience.
