Whimsical Illustrated Bill of Fare
- United States: N.p., 1910
United States: N.p., 1910. Very good. Light dust soiling.. A whimsical bill of fare printed on thick card with beveled edges (6" by 4", verso blank), illustrated in the comical and charming style of Clare Dwiggins and contemporary cartoonists. The image is captioned with a Byron quote ("I had a dream which was not all a dream") and depicts a portly 16th century gentleman fast asleep in a chair, while various troublemaking imps and elves frolic amid food and drink. Each item on the menu is affordably priced. Offerings include comforting and casual pub-style fare (e.g. ham and eggs, oyster stew, lamb tongue, pie, tea and coffee).
