New York, New York: Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, 1930. Very good. Minor dust soiling.. An informational pamphlet for new parents, offering advice for fostering healthy growth and development in infants. Uses an effective format: the tri-fold pamphlet, which opens in the middle, has two halves that show one mother using effective parenting techniques (daily bathing, quiet and fresh air for sleeping, regular doctor check-ups) versus a mother doing the opposite. The flaps open in the middle to reveal a grinning infant captioned "This Baby had a Careful Mother". Includes tips on nursing, weaning, dressing, etc. within. Tri-fold pamphlet measuring 8.5" by 4", illustrated in red and black. The Metropolitan Life Insurance Company published dozens of public health booklets, offering advice on subjects ranging from healthy eating to the importance of vaccinating children against common diseases and safe teen driving.
