A handwritten memo/receipt dated April 27th, 1837, noting payment received for an advertisement to be featured in issues of "The Green Banner", a now rare periodical published in New York between 1836 and 1837 for Irish Americans by T.C. Levins. Receipt signed by Levins. The verso serves as a proof of the printed advert, which announces a voyage to Mobile of the First Class Ship Emerald under the command of Capt. B. Prindle. Promotes it as having "handsome accommodations" and an ideal way for shippers to move their goods. Features a small wood engraved image of a ship at the head. Measures approx. 8" by 4.75
