Black boards, with titles stamped in silver on spine and front board. Pictorial paper label featuring Smith's black-and-white photography on front board of each volume. Mild rubbing to extremities, and soiling to textblock edges. Each volume is signed and hand numbered on the limitation page; this is number 489/1000.
The frontispiece is an original black and white photograph, printed by the photographer and initialed below in pencil. It appears as plate 42: Kitt Peak, Arizona, 1978. All photographs are reproduced in actual size by offset lithography on a single color Heidelberg press. Volume II features panoramic photography, and is hand sewn.
The subject of this collection of photographs deals mostly with the beautiful wide open spaces of the West. Includes photographs of Toroweap (Grand Canyon), Bryce Canyon, Salt River Canyon, Escalante, Canyon de Chelly, Zion, Cedar Breaks.
