Oblong Octavo Valentine with Lace Paper, Embossed Scraps

England, 1850. Very good. Left-hand maiden under canopy lacking head.. An elaborate octavo-sized Valentine using finely manufactured lace paper depicting a bridge, various flora, and two young maidens lounging under a canopy held aloft by a group of putti. Colored with sky blue, and decorated with embossed die-cut scraps including holly sprigs, doves, and a little motto ("Trust to me"). Measures approx. 4.75" by 7
