First edition, early printing,with 1957 date both on copyright and title page of the first title in The Lonely Doll series. Dare Wright's, arguably "offbeat" take on girlhood; even with "modern" sensibilities well-advanced from the 1950s when Dare created the characters and story of Edith and her Teddy Bears, some now perhaps regard it as "edgy". A very nice copy in price-clipped pictorial dustjacket front and back that replicates the covers of the book. With a young girl's bookplate on the pastedown.
