Philadelphia: Wilson and Company, Publishers, 1843. Ephemera. Very Good. Pagination runs 181 to 210. Single issue of this weekly publication devoted to the republication of English fiction (without paying royalties). As such, this features the first three chapters of "Martin Chuzzlewit" by Charles Dickens, as well as an editorial criticizing the recent work and wealth of Dickens. Of note is a brief article on Mormons and Mormonism asserting that there are people in Kendal [England] taken by the dogmas of Mormonism that they refuse medical advice, and claiming that Joseph Smith is threatening to take the US by fire and sword, mentioning he had been indicted for murder and arson. Moderate scattered foxing to the paper.
