Small octavo (15cm.); contemporary roan over marble paper-covered boards, dark blue gilt spine, all edges stained yellow; xxvii,[1],325pp.; twenty-four (24) hand-colored folding map plates (texts and maps collated complete). Boards significantly worn, leather dried and a bit scuffed at ends, contemporary ownership note at head of title page and modern (1965) ownership signature to front free endpaper verso, a few leaves dog-eared, else contents clean and sound. A Very Good example overall, complete with all twenty-four maps, charmingly crude in their coloring.

Second Italian edition of this useful geographical guide from the French cartographer Guillaume de l'Isle's maps. First published in Italy in 1777, this edition notes in the opening pages that it has substantially updated the portions devoted to the former British colonies.
