By [Wordless Novel] Nückel, O. [Otto]
München: Delphin Verlag, 1926. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Octavo [20.5 cm] Camel-colored cloth over boards with brown ink stamped titles on the backstrip and front board and a brown ink stamped vignette on the front cover. Publisher's black topstain. The covers are just a hair warped. Nückel's classic story, told entirely through a collection of striking images in seventeen chapters, presented in the storytelling tradition of the work of Lynd Ward and Frans Masereel. In "Schicksal" the heroine endures illegitimate birth, murder, prostitution, and a violent death in the end.

A German edition of Nückel's masterpiece. This edition preceeds the American edition published in 1930.
