[Cabinet card]: John H. MacTague, Philadelphia businessman
- Unbound
- [Philadelphia] , 1880
[Philadelphia], 1880. Unbound. Near Fine. Cabinet card. Photograph measuring 5½" x 4", mounted to a card measuring 6½" x 4¼". Card lightly toned and with a touch of soil, tiny ink stain on the verso, a couple of small bumps, near fine overall. The photo shows a Philadelphia man, presumedly John H. MacTague, out front of his business, posed with a wooden push cart, the side reading "John H. MacTague, Plumber, 230 S. 5th St." On the walls of the business behind him, signs for a variety of services can be seen, including plumbing and gas fitting, house and sign painting, drainage and ventilation. We came across evidence that suggests that MacTague was a drainage inspector for the city in the 1890's.
