SIGNED by the author (no inscription) on the verso of the front endpaper (facing the title page). The author's first novel, about a woman who emerges from the protective environment of Laurel Groves, "a rest home of sorts, her only refuge after the mass murder of six members of her family" -- a crime for which she was tried, but aquitted -- and, with the help of an investigative writer, begins to unravel her horrible past.
