Freedom; A Photographic History of The African American Struggle

By [CIVIL RIGHTS] [PHOTOGRAPHY] [AFRICAN AMERICANA] MARABLE, Manning [with] MULLINGS, Leigh
London: Phaidon, 2002. First Edition. Large Quarto. 28cm. Publisher's white card wraps, titled in black to spine. Dustjacket. 512pp. Light wear to the wraps, with a little creasing to the extremities in places, mercifully free of significant soiling to the white card, in a photgraphic dustjacket with some light cosmetic wear to the spine ends and extremities. Internally clean, a very good copy indeed for such a large and unwieldy book normally prone to all sorts of condition problems.

An enormous and imposing study and history of the African American struggle for freedom and equality, recounted through the medium of photographs from the mid 19th century up the time of publication.
