London: Frederick Warne & Co, 1908. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine. Yellow cloth spine and illustrated paper over boards. Contains 24 color plates for each letter of the alphabet. Each illustration is accompanied by a limerick, for example: "O was an obstinate owl, Who might have been quite a nice fowl; But she spoilt her eye sight, Reading novels at night. Now she ogles at you with a scowl." Endpapers are illustrated with an inscription on ffe: "For Charlotte, After deep dark and somber reflection, I picked on this trifling [inspection] as a sort of a scheme to express my esteem and a book for your Dulac collection. Bunny, Christmas, 1924." Edmund Dulac (1882-1953) was a French-British naturalized magazine illustrator, book illustrator and stamp designer. Very nice copy, indeed.
