The account of the travels of Count Portia de Piles (1758-1826), lieutenant of the Light Horse Guard of the King. The Count left France during the run-up to the French Revolution and, with his friend the Chevalier de Boisgelin, undertook a long journey through Europe. Boards scratched, scuffed; corners bumped with leather missing at the tips. Some leather missing along side edge of boards.
