Also inscribed by her on the ffe to close friends American essayist, philosopher and all-around intellectual Lewis Mumford and his wife: "With love/ to Sophia/ & Lewis/ from Diane/ 1981" on the half title. Some sun fading to spine and a tiny nick to the marrow title label on spine. Light spotting to the edges of some of the leaves.
