New York: Grosset & Dunlap Publishers, 1907. Reprint. Hardcover. Very Good. 563pp. Duodecimo [19.5 cm] Red cloth over boards with elaborate floral designs in black, red, and gray on the backstrip and front board. Rear board soiled, else the binding is nice and bright. Small numerical ink stamp on the front pastedown. Pages very clean. From the collection of Berkeley book collector and letterpress printer John Ruyle. William de Morgan (1839-1917), a lifelong friend of William Morris, was an English potter and tile designer. He designed tiles, stained glass, and furniture for Morris & Co. from 1863 to 1972. He later turned his attention to writing novels, and became better known for his novels than he had been for his pottery.

A supernatural novel with ghosts and mystery.
