Issued as part of Heinemann's "Uniform Edition" series, this copy was published 12 years after the 1940 original London edition, also published by Heinemann (under wartime conditions). A solid, presentable copy. Tight and VG+ to Near Fine (very light spotting at the panels, former owner blindstamp to the title page) in a crisp, VG- to VG dustjacket, with very light chipping at the spine ends and the tips, and light wear along the edges. Inconspicuous tape reinforcement as well at the inside of the dustjacket. A landmark title in 20th century literature, especially uncommon signed by Graham Greene.
