[Two store ledgers from the early twentieth century]

n.p.: n.p., 1917. Hardcover. Good. Hardcover. Two folio sized commercially produced ledgers used for a furniture and household goods dealer. The name of the business and its location are not identified. There are stickers on the front pastedown of the ledger for 1916-17 for businesses in Rochester and Syracuse, New York. This seems to have been a prosperous business with many sales daily. The were recorded in ink or pencil, giving the name of the purchaser, the item (s) purchased and the amount paid. Despite the limited knowledge about the location of the business and no knowledge of its name, the ledgers still provide an interesting description of the activities of this proprietor in the early 20th century. Each volume has 300 pages of transactions recorded. Bindings are quite worn, with the leather spines missing.
