"Written in 1937-38 in Paris, this book was penned without carbon & gifted as a long intimate book letter to the painter Hans Reichel who died 1958: now a Loujon Press 1524-copy first edition" (from the dust jacket). The work is here presented with an introduction by Lawrence Durrell and illustrations reproduced from Reichel's own work.
Jack Grapes is a Los Angeles poet, publisher, and former editor of the poetry journal ONTHEBUS (1989-2017). Notably, his work appears, along with Henry Miller's, in The Outsider, the short-lived but influential literary journal published by the Loujon Press (1961-1969). Fine in Very Good + dust jacket.
