Dutifully-used University Loose Leaf Note Book purchased from a Woolworth and filled with neatly typed up notes to seventeen disparate, alphabetically-organized lessons on topics ranging from Bacteriology, Bones, and Cells, to Facials, Hair Dyeing, and Manicuring. The fourteen pages relating to Electricity are followed by a short page on the art of dyeing eyelashes and eyebrows, while the lesson on Marcelling (i.e. hair curling) is followed by Myology and Permanent Weaving. The lessons conclude with the Respiratory System, Shampooing, Scalp Treatments, and the Vascular System.
A detail-rich primary document of an early beauty school student from the era when schools devoted entirely to cosmetology were beginning to spring up with the rise of Hollywood and beauty culture.
