Uncommon lithograph produced by the husband and wife design team Otis and Dorothy Shepard, who began working for William Wrigley, Jr. in 1932, Otis serving as art director for the company for the next 32 years. In the early years of their tenure the couple designed at least a dozen such images promoting Juicy Fruit, all fabulously Art Deco, often with a sporty theme. In this example the Juicy Fruit consumers are pool-side, the woman in her floral bathing cap about to pop a strip in her mouth while she watches a muscular man get ready to dive in. "You'll really enjoy this completely different, delicious flavor.
