London: Brain & Payne, 12, Paternoster Row, 1850. The composer is depicted standing on a plinth with a writing implement in his right hand and a sheet of rolled music manuscript paper in his left, flanked by angels, allegorical figures, and an eagle.

On ivory paper with "Mozart" and imprint to lower margin. Size to platemark 241 x 214 mm; sheet size 289 x 222 mm.

Very slightly worn, soiled, and creased. British Museum number 1983, U.2672 variant. Hall III, p. 238.

Albert Henry Payne (1812-1902), a noted British-born engraver, painter, and illustrator, lived and worked in Leipzig from 1839.
