Noted Viennese collector Professor Josef Zehtgruber (1935-2001), with his distinctive small decorative handstamp to upper outer corner of title and free front endpaper.

Binding slightly worn, spine faded. Minor wear and browning. First Edition. Köchel 8, p. 135. Hirsch III, 626. Series 5, number 8 in the publisher's edition of the complete works of Mozart.

Ascanio in Alba, to a libretto by Giuseppe Parini, was composed for the wedding of Archduke Ferdinand of Austria and Maria Beatrice Ricciarda of Modena and first performed in Milan at the Teatro Regio Ducal on 17 October 1771.
