Octavo (21 cm); 152pp. Boards quarter bound in blue paper and white cloth with blue stamping to spine wrapped in publisher's illustrated blue dust jacket with price intact ($3.00). Blue top stain. Jacket generally scuffed and rubbed with minor tears and creasing to extremities and closed puncture to rear joint. Verso toned. Boards gently bumped with minor soiling to cloth spine and bowing out to the board fore-edges. Top stain faded. Endsheets lightly offset but pages relatively clean. A Very Good or better copy in like dust jacket.

Signed bookplate by Matthiessen laid in at front. His third novel.
