Boards worn and scuffed; brief exposure to corners; fraying, chipping, and shallow loss to spine ends; spine a bit sunned and gilt dulled. Pronounced lean to boards but binding is sound. Ownership inscription and brief bookseller scribbling to front free endpaper; spotting to pages but legible throughout. Overall a Good to Very Good copy of Charlotte Bronte's first novel written, only published posthumously after her untimely death in 1855.
