New York, New York: Marvel Company, 1905. Very good. Minor spotting.. A rubber syringe douching product for women, marketed as a solution for a variety of feminine woes including leukorrhea, vaginitis, and painful menstruation, as well as unmentionable "new needs" that arise as a result of "the transition into the marital state", pregnancy, and menopause. Includes directions for use and testimonials. Single vol. (6.5" by 3.25"), pp. 12, stapled in original illus. self wrps. printed in green with image of product on both wrps. The late 1890s and early 1900s brought an influx of new synthetic rubber goods to the American market, and the present product is a good example of how the new material was advertised as a technological "marvel" and boon to family health.
