By Yvonne De Carlo (subject)
Universal City: Universal-International, 1950. Collection of ten vintage publicity photographs of Canadian-American actress and singer Yvonne De Carlo, dated variously between 1944 and 1950. Two with printed mimeo snipes on the versos, and several with provenance stamps on the same.

De Carlo signed with Universal in the mid-1940s. The studio largely cast her in singing parts in musicals, although she pushed for roles with more depth, and was given minor parts in "Brute Force" (1947) and the film noir "Criss Cross" (1949).

From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.

8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus to Near Fine.
