Original Pictorial Receipt accomplished in manuscript to the Barbados General Goods Company

Barbados: Geo. Whitfield & Company, 1866. Very Good. Barbados: Geo. Whitfield & Company, 1866. Small pictorial broadside receipt (19x12.5cm.) accomplished in manuscript. Previous folds, light soil and wear from handling, else Very Good and sound.
Receipt made out to Capt. Robinson on April 16, 1866, by the Barbados general goods business of George Whitfield (1827-1902) on 15 Broad Street. The top third of the receipt is adorned with small engraving of the shop surrounded by the text "Groceries. Provisions. Wine, Spirits &c. &c. General Importers of Manufactured Goods." The shop itself has a large balcony on the second floor, with a horse and buggy outside and two locals walking past on the street carrying large loads on their heads.
As for Captain Robinson, he purchased linen sheets, a railroad rug, a half dozen hose, socks, a leather bag, and an umbrella. Also one case of brandy and two of gin. For all this he spent $64.58.
