Universal City: Universal Pictures, 1945. Three vintage publicity photographs of singer and actress Virginia Bruce, dated variously between 1940 and 1945. One with provenance stamps on the verso, and one with a printed mimeo snipe affixed to same.
Virginia Bruce appeared in over 80 films between 1929 and 1981. She is best remembered today for her appearances in "The Garden Murder Case" (1936), "The Invisible Woman" (1940), and "Flight Angels" (1940).
From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 1930s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s.
