A grouping of four (4) printed libretti for operas performed in New York and Boston between 1854 and 1855, three of which were performed by the Pyne & Harrison Troupe. Two of the libretti have been signed in ink on the upper wrapper by Rhode Island Adjutant General Edward C. Mauran. A snapshot into the performing arts scene in New England circa 1854.

The Beggar's Opera, an Opera, by John Gay. As Performed by the Pyne and Harrison Troupe at the Boston Theatre. Boston: Eastburn's Press, 1854. 8vo (7.5" by 4.5"), pp. 36, sewn in original printed wrappers. Some dust soiling, spine chipped. Contemporary ink ownership inscription to upper wrapper of E.C. Mauran.

Fra Diavolo: The Inn of Terracina. A Comic Opera, in Three Acts ... New York: Published by Wardle Corbyn ... 1854. 8vo (8.75" by 5.5"), pp. 54, [2], sewn in original printed wrappers. "Authorized Edition". Toned, wrappers chipped.
